For 20 years, Fake Mustache has been rewriting Calgary’s queer history through drag, glitter, and community magic.
Now, we’re putting it all on the page.
Fake Mustache: A Graphic Community Memoire is a comic anthology created with artist Kat Simmers and author Kaitlyn Hatch — capturing two decades of drag, resilience, and radical joy. With 40 stories spanning from 2004–2025, it’s part archive, part love letter, and all queer brilliance.
This first edition celebrates the longest-running drag troupe in Canada and the generations of artists who made our stages sparkle.
